1. Supplying SPF-level laboratory mouse strains
NRCMM holds hundreds of inbred strains, mutant strains, disease models (including those of cardiovascular disease, obesity, diabetes mellitus, immunodeficiency, Alzheimer’s disease, tumor and etc.). We also provide many ‘tool mice’, such as tissue-specific CRE transgenic mice and fluorescent protein reporter mice.
2. Transgenic/Knockout mice services
NRCMM provides services for generating transgenic mice (including large fragment-, such as BAC-, transgenic mice), knockout mice (including conventional KO, conditional KO), knock-in mice and more complicated target mutation mice.
3. Phenotypic analysis services
We provide biochemical and physiological analyses including measurements of blood sugar, blood corpuscle, blood pressure, metabolic parameters, circadian rhythms, bone mineral density, and etc. We also perform comprehensive histopathological analyses including paraffin section, frozen section, histochemistry, immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, etc. In addition, other molecular analyses can be made at the DNA, RNA, and protein levels.
4. Mouse breeding services
We provide for our customers services in breeding, housing and maintaining mouse colonies. We expand colonies, render backcrosses and perform genotyping tests. We also examine the levels of micro-organisms and viruses from quarantined colonies.
5. Strain cryopreservation
We are capable of performing strain purification, embryo cryopreservation, in vitro fertilization, Caesarean section, and embryo transfer procedures.
6. Training services
NRCMM provides training for students and technicians in the areas that include breeding managements and generation of genetically engineered mice.
